E.C.E.D., the European Confederation of Equipment Distributors, is the European federation of national professional associations that represent companies active in the field of distribution, rental, maintenance and repair, equipment security for construction, mining, forestry and handling.
E.C.E.D. is a free European association for distribution, rental, maintenance and repair, equipment security activities in the field of construction, mining, forestry and handling.
The association is financially completely autonomous and defines its policy in complete freedom. It occupies an important place on the European scale in its quality of consulting body for its members and as liaison between European manufacturers' associations and E.C.E.D. member associations.
As an European association, E.C.E.D. represents the distribution sector. It is therefore important that E.C.E.D. keeps in touch both with manufacturers and resellers. Which is why E.C.E.D. is consulting European equipment manufacturers' associations.
Correspondingly, E.C.E.D. maintains long-term relationships with the trade and is able to bring to the force and to defend the members' interests in an optimal way.
The aim of E.C.E.D. is to analyze, from a scientific, economic, technical and institutional point of view all the problems relating to the activities of distribution, maintenance and repair, equipment security for construction, mining, forestry and handling and to the international economic integration, among others in the E.C., as well as research and the elaboration of solutions thereto pertaining.
Therefore, E.C.E.D. handles, among others :
- examining the legislation and any document or national or international regulation in force or to be in the E.C. and in its member states, directly or indirectly related to activities of distribution, rental, maintenance and repair, equipment security in the fields of construction, mining, forestry and handling;
- relationships with the various bodies of the E.C. and European associations representing all the trade partners;
- defending the interests of the trade;
- organizing colloquia, meetings, workshops, etc.
- creating study groups on all commercial, technical, legal, social or other matters of general interest to the sector;
- creating research, litigation, commercial and legal information departments;
- make active and appropriate propaganda to favorably introduce the results of research to the public and the public and legislative authorities, the social authorities and trade unions and to any professional and interprofessional association, both on the national and the international level;
- information to member associations;
- collecting and circulating information on all issues directly or indirectly concerning the distribution, rental, maintenance and repair, equipment security sectors. This information is not only collected from existing sources but also by means of inquiries and research carried out by E.C.E.D.
