NEW PRESIDENT AND BOARD FOR ECED
Posted by Philippe Decrock on Monday, 3 March 2008, 16:40

The General Assembly of ECED took place on 14 February 2008 and elected Mr. José Gameiro, Portugal, ACAP, as new President of ECED. The Assembly welcomed also two new board members to ECED, M. Philippe Papin, France, DLR and M. Henk Kuiken , Netherlands, BMWT. In his speech Mr. Gameiro, reasserted the importance of a new action plan for ECED.
The result is an action plan to increase the sensitization of dealers in Europe by allowing them to join the association directly. The purpose consists in conveying a concrete message about different major issues to manufacturers and the European Commission.
One must also handle the topic of direct sale by manufacturers. Other topics are: works under warranty (how can this be examined on EU basis), sales and second-hand market (too often this market is in the hands of brokers and auctions), statistics harmonization per country for a given target group and presentation to manufacturers (nowadays manufacturers’ statistical data diverges too much from dealers’ and national associations’ data), educating and training mechanics and salesmen and sensitization campaigns to urge youngsters to make a career in our branch, cooperation between ERA and CECE and finally organization of a dealer forum in 2009.

Choose the Original - Choose Success!

Original technology pays off: That’s the core message of a new campaign supported by CECE and its member associations and companies. The campaign, in the beginning developed by VDMA, the German member association of CECE, makes obvious that it is in the very interest of every buyer to invest in original technology.

The campaign focuses on the advantages of original machines which on the one hand affirms customers who already took a purchase decision and on the other hand convinces potential buyers. The campaign logo, showing three interwoven Cs, stands for copyright, the protection of intellectual property. It also symbolizes a finger print representing the individual and distinctive character of an original.

The campaign is based on five main arguments for original machines and equipment: quality, innovation, efficiency, experience and safety. CECE and its members integrate the campaign logo and the slogan as well as the main arguments in their daily communication in order to spread the campaign on a broad scale.

CECE member companies are invited to use the campaign material for company-specific purposes.
