Our trade association is the Construction Plant-hire Association (CPA). We represent the plant hire industry in the United Kingdom (UK). Our member companies hire mobile and construction plant to civil engineering contractors, builders, manufacturers, process plants, local authorities, utilities, farmers, forestry and just about every other industry in the UK.

This is an amendment to Directive 97/68/EC, with the aim of including in the scope of that Directive small spark ignition engines (< 19kW) such as those used in lawn mowers, chain saws and water pumps. As the smallest engines contribute significantly to overall emissions, representing around 20% of such emissions, the Directive should once adopted contribute to achieving ambient air quality objectives, especially concerning the formation of ozone.
